Description: Discover how ideas and personal imagery can translate into the unique medium of lithographic printmaking with the help of a professional collaborative printer. You don’t need a lot of muscle and heavy, cumbersome stones to create a lithograph. Though printing from stones is quite beautiful, the world of lithography using lightweight, convenient and portable plates is an excellent and handy alternative. Plates can be transported and carried with ease, allowing the possibility of quickly creating a beautiful, rich multi-color lithograph. Printing on the etching press allows ease of access and provides a familiar way for those experienced with monotype, woodcut, or etching to begin working with lithographic techniques. Images can be created based on previously worked out drawings, new creations, or even done on the photocopier. This workshop is perfect for the printmaker who wants to learn this traditional method of lithography in one concise, straightforward, creative and informative workshop. Open to all levels.
