Description: Make books for the first time or renew skills as you develop solid bookbinding knowledge and learn a variety of folded and sewn binding styles. Become familiar with the fundamentals of vocabulary, tools, materials and technique. You will leave with a love of bookbinding, several handmade books, and a strong foundation for more advanced learning.
Students should bring to the class:
- Basic bookbinding materials – metal ruler, cutting mat, Xacto knife/blades, scissors, mechanical pencil, awl, bonefolder, Japanese screw punch (if you have one)
- Decorative paper
