August 14 – 18, 2017
Monday – Friday, 10 – 5 pm**
Cost: $575 (price includes a $50 materials fee)
Instructor: Georgia Deal
Description: This intensive, five-day workshop invites artists who have taken the PAPERMAKING BASICS weekend workshops offered (above) to further explore handmade paper and the many opportunities it offers to the Book Artist, Printmaker or any artist who works on paper in its many forms.
Participants will explore different fibers and their unique qualities, learning pigmentation and coloring techniques and working in larger formats. Image transfer, stenciling, painting and pulp monoprint techniques will be demonstrated and dimensional processes will be covered for those interested. The work of nationally known Paper artists will be shown, as well as many recent and innovative techniques in the medium. Come with individual projects in paper you wish to explore, as there will be sufficient one-on-one time with the Instructor to focus on just this! We encourage those with print projects on handmade paper to take one of the many printmaking course offerings as a follow-up.
