Mark your calendars for BookOpolis 2008, September 26 and 27. This is a not-to-be-missed event for all lovers of book arts. Free and open to the public, join us to celebrate this explosion of artists' books and meet many of the artists. BookOpolis 2007 hosted over 90 books and broadsides!
This year, in the weeks following BookOpolis, BookWorks will host an extended exhibition of selected work from the event, and award a purchase prize to one of the participating artists.

Exhibition Opening and Reception
Also, premiere of the 2008 Interlude Editions Small Book Deluxe Edition, a collection of artists' books created by regional book artists. The collection will be up for auction or raffle during the evening. A line-up of local writers will read poetry relating to the theme of the edition - based on Gaston Bachelard's book The Poetics of Space - with musical accompaniment.

Music! Dancing! Screenprinting!
We'll print screens designed by artists from in and around Asheville, including Bill Fick, Matt Liddle, Katherine McGinn, and Lauren Scanlon. Move on to Kyle's Band party groove, High Five surf music, What if?, Circus Band and more.
